Everclear

Band Info.

In 1992 in Portland, Oregon Art Alexakis, Craig Montoya, and Scott Cuthbert formed Everclear. In 1993 for $400 they recorded World of Noise as their debut album. After that Greg Eklund took over on drums for Scott in 1994. In 1995 they released Sparkle and fade their second album which contained Twist Inside, Heroin Girl, Heartspark Dollarsign, and Santa Monica these songs launched the band into the national spotlight. Santa Monica was the greatest modern rock song of 1996. Everclear's next album was So Much for the Afterglow. It debuted at 33 on the Billboard Top 200. Everything to Everyone the 1st single of So Much for the Afterglow climbed to #1 on the Modern Rock charts. Everclear Won Billboards modern Rock Artist of the year in 1998

Since then Everclear has released 2 albums the first being Songs From An American Movie Vol 1:Learning to Smile. This album brought about a new sound from Everclear. With Songs such as A.M. Radio and Wonderful, Everclear's sound took on a slightly "pop-ish" sound. I think of this sound as that of Happy Everclear. The music was lighter and more uplifting than earlier songs by the trio. Songs vol 1. Brought many new fans to Everclear. This Album also had a cover of Van Morrison's Brown eyed girl which was spectactular

Songs From an American Movie Vol.2: God Time for a Bad Attitude was a graet return to Everclear's earlier sounds and lyrics. The album took me back to the first time I put Sparkle and Fade into the Cd Player. It was a return to the "Angry" Everclear. The album featured "When It all Goes Wrong Again" which was included in the Movie Antitrust, It also sported Everclear's first Parental Advisory. Capitol released two versions of their Album, Edited And Explicit. The quick follow up to Vol. 1 and the return to the trademark sounds made this album great.
